dc.description.abstract | ”Plankton Diversity of Sea Kampai Island, Subdistrict Pangkalan Susu,
Regency Langkat, North Sumatera”, has been observed. This research was
conducted by using Purpossive Random Sampling method to determine 3 stations of
research based on activity difference of community around Sea Kampai Island. 9
replications were conducted to each point of sampling. The objectives of research
would be to know the diversity of plankton and correlation between psychochemical
factors of waters to diversity of plankton. The result of identification produced 9
classes of plankton, 29 families and 45 genus. Rhizosolenia was genus that have the
highest K K (4843.54 ind/l), KR (44.67%), and FK (100%) in station I. Eucampia,
Coscinodiscus, Thalassiothrix, Melosira, Pyrocystis, Diaptomus, Microstella,
Oithona, and Arcella are genus that have the lowest K (13.61 ind/l), KR (0.29%), and
FK (11.11%) in station II. The highest diversity index (H’) of plankton was found in
station II that is 2.020, while the lowest one was found in stasion III that is 1.737. The
highest index of uniformity (E) was found in station II that is 0.606, while the lowest
one was found in station III that is 0.487. The result of correlation analysis indicated
that temperature, salinity, light penetration, pH, BOD5, oxygen saturation, ammoniak
and phosphate have a very strong correlation to diversity index (H’) of plankton. | en_US |
