Laju Pertumbuhan Populasi Brachionus Plicatilis O. F. Muller dengan Penambahan Vitamin C pada Media Cakap

Abstract

Research on, "The Growth Rate of Brachionus plicatilis O. F. Muller Population with addition of Vitamin C in CAKAP Medium " has been conducted in May 2010, carried out at Animal Sistematic Laboratory at Biology Department, Mathematics and Natural Science Faculty, North Sumatra University. The research used Non Factorial Complete Randomized Design with 4 treatment medium, that is medium of M0 (without the addition of Vitamin C) (control), medium M1(Vitamin C 0.4 mg / 2 l), medium M2 (Vitamin C 0.8 mg / 2 l) and medium M3 (Vitamin C 1.2 mg / 2 l) with 6 replications and 8 times the period of observation. The highest population growth rate is in M3 medium at 7.978 ind x 2 x 10-3 x day-1, followed by 7.536 for M2 medium ind x 2 x 10-3 x day-1, then M1 medium of 7.509 ind x 2 x 10-3 x hari-1, and have the lowest in media of 7.016 ind M0 x 2 x 10-3 x day-1. Statistical analysis showed that the vitamin C a very significant effect on the growth rate each treatment media.
