    Gambaran Histologis, Berat dan Volume Testis Mencit (Mus musculus L.) setelah Pemberian Kombinasi Testosteron Undekanoat (TU) dan Ekstrak Air Biji Blustru (Luffa aegyptica Roxb.)

    Abstract
    Testosterone Undecanoate (TU) is one of steroid compound which was developed for male contraception in the form of injections (liquid). Seed of blustru plant (Luffa aegyptica Roxb.) contains alkaloid that is cytotoxic and has antifertility effect. The purpose of this research is to observe influence of combination of TU and water extract of blustru seed to histological picture, weight and volume of mice testes from week 0 until week 24. The research has been done from July 2009 until September 2010 with complete random design (RAL) that consists of five (5) treatments (P0, P1, P2, P3 and P4) and controls (K0, K1, K2, K3, K4) where each of them have 5 replications. The time interval intramuscular injection of TU (0.25 mg / mice) was 6 weeks and water extract of blustru seed (270mg / mice) was given orally daily that starting from week 0 until week 24. The results of research showed that combination of Testosterone Undecanoate (TU) and water extract of blustru (Luffa aegyptica Roxb.) seed had effect to histological picture at the treatment of 12 weeks and 18 weeks that happened declining of spermatogenic cells and treatment of 24 weeks happened recovery on spermatogenic cells. The result of testes weight of mice at the treatment of 12 weeks and 18 weeks were declined of testes weight significantly (p<0,05) and treatmentof 24 weeks happened recovery on weight of mice testes. The combination of TU and water extract of blustru seed had no significant effect (p>0,05) on the volume and diameter of seminiferous tubulus of mice testes.
