The aim of this research was to investigate the relation of primary productivity value with
chlorophyll a and with chemical physics factor in Lut Tawar Lake. Primary productivity
was photosynthesis activity that was done by green plants. This research has been done at
November 2009-July 2010. The location of this research was obtained based on variation
activity of each location research. Primary productivity measuring was done by using
light and dark method. The concentration of chlorophyll a was measured by
spectrophotometer. The other analysis was measuring chemistry physic factors such as
temperature, pH, DO, BOD, nitrate, phosphate, chlorophyll a, abundant of phytoplankton,
light penetration, light intensity. The mean value primary productivity range from171,164
mgC/m3/day- 320,932 mgC/m3day with the highest value of primary productivity at first
station and the lowest at the third station. The highest mean value according to depth,
was at 3 meter depth with value 342,327 mgC/m3/day and the lowest was at 6 meter depth
with value 192,559 mgC/m3/day. The highest mean value chlorophyll a was at first
station with value 3,6480 mg/m and the lowest at third station with value 1,7272 mg/m.
The highest mean value according to depth, was at 0 meter with value 3,6126 mg/m3 and
the lowest was at 6 meter depth with value 1,5561 mg/m3. The biggest abundance and
variance of phytoplankton was at first station with value 1518,943 ind/l and the lowest
was at second station with value 885,714 ind/l. According to statistic test, obtained that
there were no significant difference of primary productivity which is compared between
station and depth.
