dc.description.abstractThe effect of mulberry leaves that contain B1 on the growth and productivity of silkworm (Bombyx mori L.; Lepidoptera; Bombicidae) was conducted in the Laboratory of Genetics, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Sumatera Utara Medan. This study used an experimental method to completely randomized design (RAL). The treatments were vitamine B1 0.0mg/100ml; 0.1mg/100ml, 0.2mg/100ml, 0.3mg/100ml; 0.4 mg/100ml with 3 replications each replication consisted of 10 silkworms. The results showed that addition of vitamine B1 inhibit the growth of structure in the morphology of instar III, IV from of head length, head diameter, body length, body diameter, weight instar III and V, as well as the percentage of cocoon shell. Vitamine B1 also did not affect the structure morphology of instar V, weight instar IV, pupal weight, fiber length, fiber percentage, cocoon weight, cocoon shell weight, while the weight of the gland decrease on the frontal and posterior at a concentration of 0.4 mg/100ml .en_US
