dc.description.abstractA research had been conducted with a title "Effect of N-hexane Extract Andaliman Fruit (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC.) on Development of Craniofacial Structures Mice (Mus musculus L.) Strains DDW" Structural Animals in Laboratory in December 2011 to June 2012. This research uses completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 6 replications which consist of a control blank, control treatment of CMC 1% and treatment N-hexane extract with a concentration of 2%, 4% and 6%. Volume delivery was 0.1 ml/10 g bb orally using gavage for 10 days, beginning on the day of gestation 0-10 days. The results showed, the extract increase the percentage of embryos resorbs, number of corpus luteum and the percentage of pre-implantation loss, and reduce the number of live fetuses and fetal body weight. Treatment cause abnormalities in craniofacial structures: that increases the incidence acorea (P>0.05), mikrophthalmia and hydrocephalus (P<0.05). In conclusion, we suggested that andaliman is embryotoxic and fetotoxic.en_US
