dc.description.abstractDetermination Degrees Substitution (DS) Cellulose Acetate from Empty Fruit Bunches by titration method in Oil Palm Research Center (PPKS) Medan. To determine the degree of substitution (DS) cellulose acetate from oil palm empty fruit bunches was analyzed by titration that is by adding a mixture of dichloromethane: ethanol (4:1) with stirring for 1 hour. Followed by the addition of 0.5 N KOH with heating where the base will be neutralized by 0.5 N HCl acid with the addition of phenolphthalein indicator (pp) so that the titration end point color change from red rose became clear. Value Degree of substitution (DS) obtained from cellulose acetate, namely from 0,4003 to 3,7360en_US
