Silica is an element that bound with oxygen, insoluble in water and acid. If the concentration of silica in water used at multi fuel boiler is high, it is gradually deposited at the side of turbine, and hence it will decrease of turbine efficiency process and destroy the equipment. Silica concentration at multi fuel boiler can be determined by spectrophotometer uv- visible DR 4000 models flow cell, at wavelength, (λ) = 815 nm. It is measured every day with various time 7 hour. Silica is dissolved in ammonium hepta molibdate solution and tehn added oxalic acid 10%. The reducing agent is then added to the mixing solution to form blue solution. Based on spectrophotometer uv-visible analysis, we get the silica concentration is 0,006 ppm – 1,644 ppm. This result showns that its value is suitable and fulfill the standard quality silica concentration of 0,02 ppm – 4 ppm of PT. Toba Pulp Lestari, Tbk, Porsea.en_US
