dc.description.abstractThe pulp quality which produced is determined by cooking process,where the factor which influenced the cooking process is white liquor concentrate which consist of NaOH and Na2S is called active alkali that expressed in grams per liter. The higher concentrate will destroy the celulosa and hemicelulosa, the lower concentrate of active alkali will had unperfect result cooking of chip. The average of celulosa and hemicelulosa degradation level are determined in viscosimetry by using Ostwald viscometer. The high of viscosity shows the low degradation level and result the high pulp rendement, the low of viscosity shows the high degradation level. It makes the quality of pulp bad. From the result analysis gotten all the viscosity of pulp which is produced by PT Toba Pulp Lestari Tbk has fulfilled the standard. It is about 22-35 cP, where the concentrate of active alkali is 100-108 g/l. Universitasen_US
