The study of “The Effect of 2,4-D And Subculture Frequencies on Genetic Changes
of Callus from Immature Female Inflorescences Of Oil Palm (Elaeis guineensis
Jacq.)” has been done from March 2013 to April 2014 at Plant Tissue Culture
Laboratory of Faculty Mathematics and Science, University of Sumatera Utara. The
experimental design was completely randomized with four levels of 2,4-D
concentrations: 0; 325; 400; 475 µM and three subculture frequencies: 3; 4; 5 times.
The statistical analysis showed that 475 µM of 2,4-D significantly affected the
callus initiation and fresh weights from immature female inflorescences (p < 0,05).
The RAPD marker showed that 4 and 5 times subculture caused genetic changes.
