A study on examination of endophytic bacteria in inhibiting Colletotrichum sp. causal agent of antrachnose disease in watermelon has been carried out. Endophytic bacteria were isolated from stems, leaves, roots of healthy plant while pathogenic fungi was isolated from watermelon infected antrachnose. Seven isolates were to examine to know their ability in inhibiting the fungal growth by dipping watermelon seed in bacterial solution. In vitro assay of DS01 and BS01 isolates inhibit the fungal growth with inhibition zones higher than other isolates which were of 1,85 cm and 1,55 cm, respectively. In vivo assay of DS01 and BS01 isolates showed to reduce antrachnose disease by 88% and 76%, respectively. However, both of these isolates might inhibit seed growth by 44% and 12%, respectively. All treatments reduce seedling performance i.e seedling height, leaves number and weight compared to that of untreated control, however DS01 seemed to increase dry weight.en_US
