dc.description.abstractPT. Industry Karet Nusantara (IKN) is one of the companies which process rubber into several products, one of which is the Conveyor Belt. For these products must meet the standards of hardness at 65 ± 5 Shore A. Then have done research on the effects of carbon on one physical parameter Conveyor Belt was hadrness. Variations of carbon used was 3kg, 4kg, 5kg, 6kg, 7kg, 8kg and 9kg with vulcanization time for 60 minutes and the temperature vulcanization used 1400C. Observed physical properties of the rubber compound is hadrness. This treatment was obtained from the relationship between the variation of the carbon was directly proportional to the force. If the amount of carbon used the higher the hardness on the resulting compound Conveyor Belt was also higher, and if the amount of carbon was very low then the resulting hadrness was very low which was not in accordance with the standards used hadrness so do not meet the standard of quality in the products produced Conveyor Belt. Based on the research that has been done on hardness conveyor belt at PT. IKN was the large amount of carbon black was used in order to meet the standart hardness was 7 kg conveyor belt with a hardness of 65 Shore A.en_US
