Hubungan antara Kadar Leptin Serum Pasien Psoriasis Vulgaris dengan Skor Psoriasis Area and Severity Index

Abstract

Background Psoriasis is a chronic and relapse inflammation skin disease. Leptin has an important role in inflammation involving T cell, keratinocyte proliferation, adhesion molecules expression and angiogenesis, andendothelial cells growth involved in psoriasis pathogenesis. Aim To evaluate the correlation between serum leptin levels and Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (P ASI) score. Methods Twenty five patients with psoriasis vulgaris who came to the outpatient clinic of Dermatology and Venereology Departement Haji Adam Malik Hospital were enrolled to this study. History taking and clinical examination was performed. Psoriasis severity

was measured using P ASI score. Serum leptin levels were measured with enzyme- linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method.

Results A significant positive correlation was found between leptin serum level and P ASI score (r = 0,433;p < 0,05). Conclusions These results indicate that leptin has a role in the pathogenesis of psoriasis and it may serve as a biological marker of psoriatic disease severity

Latar belakang Psoriasis adalah penyakit peradangan kulit kronik dan bersifat kambuh-kambuhan. Leptin dianggap berperan dalam proses inflamasi yang melibatkan sel T, dapat menstimulasi proliferasi keratinosit serta ekspresi molekul-molekul adhesi dan angiogenesis serta pertumbuhan sel-sel endotel yang berperan dalam patogenesis psoriasis. Tujuan Untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kadar leptin serum pasien psoriasis vulgaris dengan skor Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (P ASI). Metode Dua puluh lima orang pasien psoriasis vulgaris yang berobat ke Poliklinik Ilmu Kesehatan Kulit dan Kelamin RSUP Haji Adam Malik Medan diikutsertakan dalam penelitian ini. Dilakukan anamnesis dan pemeriksaan klinis. Derajat keparahan psoriasis diukur dengan menggunakan skor P ASI. Pemeriksaan kadar leptin serum dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Hasil Terdapat korelasi positif yang signifikan diantara kadar leptin serum dengan skor PASI (r = 0,433; p < 0,05). Kesimpulan Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa leptin berperan dalam patogenesis psoriasis dan leptin dapat menjadi penanda keparahan penyakit psoriasis
