dc.description.abstract | The status of Sumateran Orangutan is endangered based on IUCN Red data. Bukit
Lawang as the habitat of Sumateran Orangutan (Pongo abelii) is in located Taman
Nasional Gunung Leuser. The condition is wanted to be observed in this study. The aim
of this study to analyze deviant behavior Sumateran Orangutan in Bukit Lawang.
This has been conducted in Bukit Lawang, Taman Nasional Gunung Leuser,
Sumatera Utara from February until April 2016 used Focal Animal Sampling Instantaneous method. The number of sample is three individuals. Total deviant
behaviors is 14%, from moving behavior (4,46%), feeding behavior (4,37%),
resting behavior (3,29%), social behavior (1,29%), and nesting behavior (0,61%).
One of orangutan with the highest percentage of deviant behavior is Minah
(6,49%). Behavior categories with the highest percentage is moving behavior
(4,46%) with details, moving on the ground (2,60%), moving on the fallen tree
(1,47%), and moving between the buildings (0,39%). Adult female of semi-wild
orangutan in Bukit Lawang is difficult to be fully wild considered with a lot of
human activities in ecotourism near their habitat. | en_US |
