Pengaruh Ekstrak Kulit Manggis (Garcinia mangostana L.) terhadap Fungsi Hati, Jumlah Eritrosit dan Kadar Hemoglobin Tikus (Rattus norvegicus) yang Dipapari dengan Karbon Tetraklorida (CCl4)

Abstract

Mangosteen pericarp contains flavonoids, which are antioxidants. This study aims to determine the effect of mangosteen pericarp extract on the function of liver, number of erithrocytes and level of hemoglobin rat (Rattus norvegicus) induced by carbon tetraclorida (CCl4). This experiment using completely randomized design, with 5 control; CCl4 control (CM010 and CM024), solvent control (KP10 and KP24), blank control (KB), and three treatment. The treatment were: 60 mg, 80 mg and 100 mg respectively. Each class consisted of four rat. Induced by CCl4 for 10 days and then healing process by mangosteen extract for 14 days. The volume of application was 0,8ml/day/oral. Data research by giving extract of mangosteen pericarp showed concentration 60 mg significant reduce in the SGPT and SGOT levels and concentration 100 mg significant reduce hemoglobin levels and indicated significant increase in number of erythrocytes if compared to either the carbon tetraclorida control.
