dc.description.abstract | Research on Fish Diversity in Btang Toru River, South Tapanuli District,
Province of North Sumatera has been conducted. Determination of sampling
station according to Purpossive Random Sampling in which 3 location chose,
were based on human activity. Physico-Chemical parameters measured were
temperature, light penetration, light intensity, current velocity, pH, dissolved
oxygen, biochemical oxygen demand, nitrate value, ang organic substrate value.
Test of water quality was based on storet classification method. Results showed
that, fish obtained in this study, were classified into 3 orders, 3 families, and 9
species. The highest density, and frequency of presence at station 1 dan 2 were
from Mystacoleucus marginatus while at station 3 from Osteocilus wandersii. Fish
diversity index from overall station were between 0,219 and 1,78. Similarity index
were between 0,199 and 0,856. The highest similarity index was from station 1
and 2 with 81,71 percentage of similarity. Result of correlation test showed that
light penetration and organic substrate value were strongly correlated with fish
diversity in Batang Toru River. Clasification of Batang Toru River water quality
was within class III which indicated a very well water quality. | en_US |
