Alprazolam is an effective medicine that acts as anxiolytic and other drugs in the
treatment of depression but have adverse side effects, including cognitive
impairment (memory), and psychomotor. This research aims to determine the
effect of drugs on cognitive behavioral alprazolam (memory) and psychomotor
mice (Musmusculus) using Intellicage. The variable covers the number and
duration of the visit, number and duration of nosepokes, as well as the number and
duration of licking on learning corner. 12 mice’s were divided into four groups:
blank control, saline control, treatment of alprazolam and saline, and treatment of
saline and alprazolam. Mice were fasted for 18 hours, then they were observed for
six hours later by directing them only to one corner, they were given access to
drinking and punishment in the form of air-puff. The result showed that
alprazolam impaired cognitive function (memory) and there is significant
difference in the number of visits and nosepoke at the learning corner (p<0,05).
Alprazolam can cause interference damages cognitive function and psychomotor
mice (Musmusculus).
