dc.description.abstractHas conducted analysis on the raw water hardness and water reservoir in PDAM Tirtanadi Installation Delitua Medan. Mainly caused by water hardness ions - ions Ca2 + and Mg2+ , magnesium and calcium hardness is determined by titration method using Na2EDTA and indicators EBT to total hardness and mureksid indicator for the level of calcium. Magnesium hardness value is determined by the reduction in volume (ml) Na2EDTA titration the total hardness of CaCO3 with the volume (ml) Na2EDTA titration on calcium levels. From the results obtained by titration of total hardness of raw water 222.6 mg CaCO3 / L, 17.28 mg calcium levels Ca / L, 42 levels of magnesium, Mg mg / L and total hardness of water reservoirs 74.66 mg CaCO3 / L, calcium levels 13 , 28 mg Ca / L, magnesium content of 10.06 mg / mg / L. The value of water hardness in the water reservoir in the taps Tirtanadi intalasi Delitua Medan has met the standard hardness according to the EPA, 1974.en_US
