dc.description.abstract | The research of “The Effect of 2,4-D and BAP Combination in MS Media on The
Growth of The Immature Inflorescences of Oil Palm (Elaeis guineensis Jaqc.)”
has been done in Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory, University of Sumatera Utara
from January 2013 to December 2013. The aim of this research was to know the
effects combination 2,4-D and BAP for callus induction and the growth of the
immature inflorescences of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) using Complete
Randomized Design, two factors which are 4 levels of 2,4-D concentrations: 0;
325; 400; 475 µM and 4 concentrations of BAP: 0; 25; 50; 75 µM. The result of
statistic analysis indicated that the interaction of 2,4-D and BAP give have no
significant effect of callus growth in culture and the percentage of callus fresh
weight. The result showed that the treatment 2,4-D 475 µM without BAP can
result the fastest time of callus induction. Meanwhile, the best treatment of callus
fresh weight found in 2,4-D 400 µM and BAP 25 µM. Percentage of the culture
that formed embriogenic callus is 44,44% and produced yellow callus 55,56%,
yellow brown callus 30,56% and brown callus 13,88%. | en_US |
