important area for birds. The study was conducted in February - March 2013 in
Muara Indah Beach, Denai Kuala village, Pantai Labu district, Deli Serdang
Regency of North Sumatra province and continued in October - November 2013
was performed biomass measurements in the Laboratory of Basic Chemical
LIDA. This study aimed to determine the types of shorebirds, waterbirds foods
and biomass macrozoobenthic at Muara Indah Beach Pantai Labu District Deli
Serdang Regency of North Sumatera province. Research methods used in
compiling data on birds was purposive method and the method count
concentration obtained 19 types of shorebirds (2 families: Charadriidae and
Scolopacidae). At the intake pipe paralon macrozoobenthic using methods that
allegedly recovered 25 of the food shorebirds (Bivalves, Crustacea, Echinoidea,
Gastropoda, Polychaeta and Phascolosomatidea). Distribution macrozoobenthic
was taken to a depth of 30cm and is divided into six strata (5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and
30cm), the most widely macrozoobenthic found at depths of 10 and 15cm.
Macrozoobenthic biomass calculations aimed to determine the average density
calculation, dissemination and importance of shorebirds food. Based on the
calculation result obtained the highest biomass from Tellina timorensis of 92,48
gram/m-3
.
