Waterbids is a group of birds that depends on wetland, which is used as their
breeding, resting and feeding area. Pantai Labu is one of the areas that has
wetland and is included in Important Birds Area (IBA) in Sumatera. This study is
aimeds to gather information about waterbirds diversity, including richness,
evenness and species similarity on each location in the study. This study used
concentration method. Thirty eight species of waterbirds which consisted of 8
family and 30 genera were found during 3 months study. The highest diversity
value was found in Pantai Baru in February with the value of 2,8, while the lowest
diversity value was found in Pantai Ancol with the value of 0,88. The highest
richness index was found in Pantai Muara Indah on February with the value of 4,8
and the lowest richness index was found in Pantai Ancol on April with the value
of 1,2.
