The relationship of water quality to the fish diversity in Bingei river, Binjai has
been observed in Januari 2015. Determination of the research station by using
“Purposive Sampling Methode”. Seven genera of fishes, classifying into three
ordo (Perciformes, Cypriniformes, Siluriformes) are recorded from the study area.
The highest diversity is found first location with the number 0,016 ind/m2 and the
lowest one is found at the last location with the number 0,003 ind/m2
. For
diversity index the highest is recorded from first location with the number 1,355,
while yhe lowest is found in the third location with the number 1,279. Light
penetration, dissolved oxygen and oxygen saturation are evidently correlated to
the diversity of fishes.
