| dc.description.abstract | The study about effect of long-rays Ultraviolet (UV) C as elicitor to increase
production of catechins through callus culture leaf tea (Camellia sinensis L.) has
been carried out. Method used was a completely randomized design one way
elicitor treatment provision in the form of UV C with four long irradiation ie 0,
15, 30 and 45 minutes with 3 repetitions were applied to 4th week in the sub cultured of the 2nd. This study was conducted in six parameters: callus
morphology, wet weight, dry weight, growth index, catechin content qualitatively
and quantitatively. Analysis showed that callus morphology in the form of white
and yellowish white color, texture compact callus. The highest callus fresh weight
UV irradiated C 45 minutes. The highest callus dry weight in UV C irradiation
control C 0 min. Index highest callus growth in control. Callus tea contains
catechins in qualitative test of standard and sample retention time together while
callus tea catechin content quantitatively the highest in the treatment of UV C
irradiation 30 minutes. Based on the content of catechins showed that UV C
irradiation has effect production of catechins through callus culture leaf tea. | en_US |
