dc.description.abstractResearch about type and level of gastrointestinal parasites attacks in horse (Equus coballus) in horse farm of Sempajaya Berastagi village, North Sumatra is explained using sedimentation method with the glass beads. A total of thirty horses collected from young horses group (<2 years ago) and adult horses group (>2 years ago) for counting faecal egg per gram. Thirty faecal samples in three time recycling of each, the result shows that there were five kind type is Haemonchus sp., Ostertagia sp., Strongyloides westeri, Ascaris equorum and Paramphistomum sp. The prevalence of gastrointestinal parasites in young horses group is Haemonchus sp. (30 %), Strongyloides westeri (40 %), Ascaris equorum (10 %) and Paramphistomum sp. (10 %) whereas in adult horses group, the prevalence is Haemonchus sp. (55 %), Ostertagia sp. (5 %), Strongyloides westeri (5 %) and Paramphistomum sp. (15 %).en_US
