Research on the effect of duck eggs and corn flour (cornstarch) on the rate of
population growth of Daphnia sp. was conducted from April until May 2015
using completely randomized design method. Daphnia sp. was cultured in the
medium culture that consisted of 1 liter of water and 2.4 g/L chicken’s manure,
then each jar were filled by 100 individuals of Daphnia sp., and given a treatment
with 4 treatments; A treatment was without combination of corn flour and duck
eggs (as control), B treatment (a combination of corn flour 0,9 g/L and 0,3 g/L
duck eggs), C treatment (a combination of corn flour 0,6 g/L and duck eggs 0,6
g/L), D treatment (a combination of corn flour 0,3 g/L and 0,9 g/L duck eggs),
each treatments were repeated by 3 times, aerated and population observed for 16
days. The research showed the highest growth in treatment D (a combination of
corn flour 0.3 g/L and duck eggs 0.9 g/L) were given by 2,468 ind/L. The research
analyzed that combination of feed using corn flour and duck eggs (treatment D)
does not give a significant impact on the rate of population growth of Daphnia
sp..
