Aeromonassalmonicida is a bacterium that causefurunculosis on fish and is able to form
biofilm on solid surface. The aim of this research is to control biofilm
Aeromonassalmonicida using antimicrobial compound of Lactid Acid Bacteria (LAB)
isolated from fresh water of intestinum gold fish (Cyprinuscarpio) pond around Medan city,
North Sumatera. There were 12 (LAB isolated) from fresh water. The selected isolate, UM1,
was found as a potential biocontrol agent of Aeromonassalmonicida which showed the
highest inhibition 8.5 mmcompared to other 12 isolates. Further more UM1 was used to
produce antimicrobial compound to control biofilm cell’s of Aeromonassalmonicida on gold
fish scale and polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Biofilm formation of Aeromonassalmonicidawas
performed in 1, 3 and 5 days in Nutrient Broth on fish scale and PVC then were detached
with micro glass bead for bacterial counting. The highestnumber of biofilm cells were found
at 3 days of incubation, 0.74 x 109 CFU/unit on PVC and 0.90 x 109 CFU/unit on fish scale.
Controling of biofilm cell of Aeromonassalmonicida with antimicrobial compound of LAB
isolate reduced up to 101
CFU/unit biofilm cell of Aeromonassalmonicida.
