Pengaruh Ekstrak Kulit Manggis (Garcinia mangostana L.) terhadap Gambaran Histopatologis Lambung Tikus (Rattus norvegicus L.) Jantan Galur Wistar yang Dipapari Kebisingan

Abstract

Noise is one of stressor that can lead to many health problems among other disorders of the immune system, hormone system, digestive system, increase blood pressure, etc. Mangosteen peel extract contains compound such as xanthones which can reduce the disorder. The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of mangosteen peel extract on gaster histological rat exposed to noise. This study was an experimental study using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatment groups and 5 replications. This study was used positive control of mangosteen peel extract from the 1st day until 16th day and negative control of distilled water from the 1st day until 16th day and noise 85-110 dB from 9th day to 16th day. The next groups were given a mangosteen peel extract from the 1st day until 16th day and then given noise with different noise levels, namely: 25-50 dB, 55-80 dB and 85-110 dB from 9th day to 16th day. The volume of mangosteen peel extract given was 0.5 ml/oral/day. Gaster made into microscopic slides for histologic examination using paraffin method and Hematoxyline Eosin (HE) stain. Morphologic examination showed color change in P1 and P4 treatment groups. No significant difference was observed in rats weight between treatment and control group. Histologic examination of the depth of gastric mucosal erosion/gastric ulcersrats showed significant (P<0.05) decrease of erosion between treatment and control group, but no significant decrease of gastritic (P>0,05).
