dc.description.abstractPolyol from cooking oil has been made through epoksidation reaction of cooking oil continued by hydrolysis reaction. Then, the result of polyol characterization from cooking oil was analyzed by using spectrophotometer FTIR. This polyol production was supported by the result of determination iodine number of cooking oil compared to the determination iodine number of cooking oil polyol which getting cost reduction from 6,36 to 1,56. Whereas hydroxyl number was marking up cost from 56,06 to 75,66. Furthermore, through this research it has been made polyurethane synthesis by using toluene diisocyanate reacted by polyol of cooking oil. Polyurethane synthesis was made in ratio between TDI : Polyol (2 : 1). Polyurethane acquired was identificated through spectroscopy FT-IR. The polyurethane spectrum resultant gave the appropriate spectrum and showing urethane cluster formed from polyurethane.en_US
