The analysis of iron (Fe3+), cadmium (C23+) and cobalt (Co2+)ions have been done, and the sample was taken from Lau Borus River, Karo District, North Sumatera and analysed by Atomic Absorption Spectrofotometric (AAS). The flow of the river was based on the three locations, namely Sigarang-garang, Naman Teran and Simpang Empat village, Karo. The sample was analyzed every two months in six months, and it had several stages. Firstly, the sample was filtered, added 5 mL of dilute HNO3, destructed until left ± 15 mL of volume, and finally it was put on 100 mL flask through filter paper. Finally, the concentration of Fe, Cd, and Co was analyzed by AAS with λ 248.3 nm, 288.8 nm and 240.7 nm respectively. From the data, ion Fe and ion Cd was excess from the normal concentration based on the rule of government (PP No.82 tahun 2001), but Co was still below the normal concentration. Eventually, the water of River Borus has been contaminated by Fe and Cd, and it cannot be consumed for daily activities.en_US
