Traditional medicine is the ingredient or ingredients in the form of plant
material, mineral materials, sarian (galenic) or a mixture of these materials which
for generations has been used for treatment based on experience. At first, the plant
material is consumed indirectly in the form of fresh, boiled, or blend but in its
development, traditional medicine is more practical in consumption in the form of
pills, capsules, syrups, tablets, making it easier for consumers to use. To ensure
uniformity of dosage reasoning for each - their preparation and to assess the
content of crude drugs preparations and powders, pills, tablets and capsules are
then tested to guarantee uniformity of weight and avoid medicinal mushroom
extracts tested water content. In the experiments that have been carried weight
uniformity test results obtained on the sample sepet fragrant herbs, herbal cough
and cold medicine appetite qualified in accordance with the test
KepMen.Kes.No.661/Men.Kes/SK/VII/1994 and water content on sample sepet
fragrant herbs, herbal cough and cold medicine appetite, cough and cold medicine
is only eligible ie not more than 10% while sepet fragrant herbs and herbal
appetite does not qualify the water level is above 10% according to the Materia
Medika Indonesia Volume VI 1995, the water content in the preparation of
traditional herbal medicine in the form of dry extract and determine the stability
of the dosage form further extracts.
