In the processing of palm oil in the palm oil mill PT. Socfindo Aek Loba Estate. The most important process at the pressing station in the compression process, where hot water that are added into the screw press is aimed at diluting the slurry (dillution) so that the mass of slurry is not too tightly falted. The addition of water in the pressing process (screw press) will greatly affect the percentage loss of crude palm oil, and therefore do research on optimization and the addition of water for dilution effect of the oil pressing process. And research results with a variation of the volume of water 40, 50, 60, 70, and 80 ml of water. Oil gained as much as the persentage loss : 8.30; 7.67; 5.09; 5.07; 4.98% from the addition of 60 ml of water obtained 5.09% percentage loss of oil that complies with the standards of quality that is below 7.50%.en_US
