dc.description.abstractObservations have been done in PT. Toba Pulp Lestari Tbk - Porsea on the effect of temperature on the absorption of SO2 by chilled water on SO2 absorber. Sampling was done by one hour once a day. At the unit's sulfur dioxide gas, which determines the success of the stage production in terms of both quality and quantity terms is the stage of absorption of sulfur dioxide. Absorption of SO2 in this unit uses chilled water (cold water temperature target from 8.00 to 8.70 0C). In accordance with the observations made, for the chilled water temperature by 8.70 0C then SO2 is absorbed as much as 60.76 kg. The higher the temperature of the chilled water absorption of SO2 gas decreases and vice versa. Absorption using chilled water indirectly so as to lower the temperature and increase the solubility of SO2.en_US
