This study aims to determine whether the Problem Based Leaming strategy can enhance
students' understanding of statistics. The study found that implementation
of Problem Based Leaming strategy approach can improve students' understanding
of statistics at the Senior High School because the characteristics of the Problem
Based Learning in accordance with the characteristics of Statistics and statistical
properties of the material. Problem Based Learning (PEL} strategy received great
attention in the education world lately proved by many online resources and scientific
forums that discuss this particular learning strategy. Previous research in
the format of classroom action research has been done which found that PBL can
enhance students' understanding of the invention in the discussion of the basic
concepts of probability, experimental design and learning of calculus. Furthermore
another research found that PBL can enhance students' learning interest on Advanced
Statistics courses both within and outside the classroom.
