Has conducted analysis of organic substances in drinking water and clean water
that comes from wells in villages pasar 4 Mabar districts Medan Deli. Organic
matter also called parameter value permanganate. Analysis of organic substances
by titration methods permanganometry under acidic conditions, wherein the
organic substances in the water is oxidized with potassium permanganate and
oxalic acid is reduced by the excess, the excess oxalic acid is titrated back with
potassium permanganate. Where the endpoint is characterized by changing the
solution becomes pink. Obtained results of analysis of organic substances in
drinking water is 3.476 mg/L, 3.160 mg/L and 3.507 mg/L. And the clean water
obtained 2.212 mg/L, 3.476 mg/L and 2.844 mg/L. Where the requirements of
organic substances by PERMENKES 416/Menkes/Per/IX/1990 the maximum
value for the parameter of organic substances in water is 10 mg/L. The results of
the two samples above all meet the requirements in accordance with
PERMENKES 416/Menkes/Per/IX/1990.
