dc.description.abstractRhodamine B is one of the dyes used for paint industry, textile and paper that is very dangerous when used in cosmetics. It has been done to identify dye rhodamine B (Cl 45170) in lipsticks by thin layer chromatography (TLC) and uv visible spectrophotometry. Based on observations carried out on samples of lipsticks Raffini No.14 gave a positive result (+), the wavelength of the standard solution Rhodamin B is 551.8 nm with the absorbance of 0.2297 nm and the wavelength of the sample is 550 lipstick Raffini N0.14 , 8 nm with the absorbance of 0.0464 nm. Wavelength range from 550.8 to 551.8 nm indicates that the sample lipsticks contain Rhodamin B. Raffini No.14en_US
