One of the factors that affect the population was born (fertility). Number of couples of
childbearing age must also have an influence on the fertility rate. The population of
the lot or excessive certainly cause uneven welfare people themselves through revenue
earned per capita which is an important goal to be achieved by each country.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of number of Eligible Couples
(EFA), and Per Capita Income to Total Birth Rate (TFR) in the province of North
Sumatra. The method of analysis used to examine the factors Number of Eligible
Couples and Per Capita Income affecting Amount Total Birth Rate in North Sumatra
is Descriptive Analysis and Quantitative Analysis with Regression Methods (Multiple
Linear Regression).
The results showed that the descriptive analysis of the results can be seen in crosstabulation
(crosstab) to compare the characteristics of respondents with each of the
variables studied. While the Quantitative Analysis by multiple linear regression
method, the results showed the existence of both positive and negative effects of
variable couples of childbearing age and income per capita of the total kelahitran
level, and the coefficient of determination of 0.7071, meaning that 71% of total
fertility rate (TFR) in North Sumatra affected by the variable age couples, infertile and
per capita income through multiple linear relationship with regression equation: Y =
2.67699 + 4.4328709E-07 X1 - X2 4.8834546E-08, and the remaining 29% is
explained by other factors.
