dc.description.abstractThe instability of a power system means a condition that indicates a loss of synchronization of the system. Stability issues are closely related to synchronous machine ratings aJter an inteffuption occurs. A disruption of both small and large on the power system can affect the operation of the system. Several types of interference in the power system include short circait three phase interference. This disordir is the biggest cause that fficts the instability of a system. Analysis of tronsitionat stability using nonlinear model approach is one way to analyze the instqbility of a system due to short circuit three phase interference. In this study discussed the transitional stability of Transmission Network 150 kI/ PLN North Sumatra at the time of short circuit three phase in 3 zone that is zone I Province of Aceh, zone 2 Province of North Sumatra (Area Medan) and zone 3 Province of North Sumatra (Area Sianta) in the longest channel and on the bus that has the biggest looding. Ihis research uses Matlob R20I4a software with PSAT toolbox version 2.1.9 with Trapezoidal method. The simulation result shows that from 9 potnt of disturbance, there are 4 stable bus and 5 unstable bus. The fastest bus time of critical breaks is on the Poyageli bus between 67 ms and 68 ms and the longest is on the Banda Aceh bus that-is-between 928 ms and 929 ms. From this simulation can provide inftrmation on the stability of the system on Tronsmission Network 150 kV PLN North Sumatra so it can enticipate if there is q short circuit three phase interference and btow the characteristiis of transitional stability as the basis of protection system planning.en_US
