    Hubungan Berat Badan Lahir dan Indeks Massa Tubuh dengan Fungsi Kognitif pada Anak Sekolah Dasar di Desa Singkuang Kabupaten Mandailing Natal

    Abstract
    Introduction: Children with low birth weight (LBW) have a greater risk for the occurrence of developmental disorders in children. Children with low birth weight is generally increased incidence of neurological deficits or cognitive impairment during childhood compared with a normal birth weight. otherwise, that can affect cognitive function is a body mass index (BMI). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between birth weight and body mass index and cognitive function in children in primary school at Singkuang. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in primary school at Singkuang. Recorded birth weight children and calculated the body mass index as well as an assessment of a child's cognitive function with the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE). Results: The results of this study indicate the percentage of low birth weight was higher than normal birth weight about 59,5yo, the majority of children have abody mass index Underweight about 50,3oh, and there is a significant association between birth weight and cognitive function (P : 0.0001), and there is no relationship between body mass index and cognitive function in children in primary school at Singkuang (P : 0.356). Conclusion: There was a significant association between birth weight and cognitive function and no association between body mass index and cognitive function in children
     
    Latar belakang : Anak dengan berat badan lahir rendah (BBLR) memiliki resiko besar untuk tefadinya gangguan pada anak. Anak dengan BBLR umunnya mengalami peningkatan insidensi deJicit neurologis atau gangguan kognitif selama masa kanak-kanak dibandingkan dengan bayi berat latrir cukup. Selain itu, yang dapat memengaruhi fungsi kognitif yaitu indeks mimatubuh GMT). Tujuan : Mengetatrui hubungan antara berat badan lahir dan indeks masa tubuh dengan fuagsi kognitif pada anak SD di desa Singkuang. Metode: Penelitian potong lintang dilakukan di SD Desa Singkuang. Dilakukan pengumpulan data berat badan lahir dari sample dan dilakukan perhitungan IMT serta dilakukan penilaian fungsi kognitif dengan Mini Mentol State Examination (MMSE). Data dianalisis dengan uji Chi- square. Hasil: Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan persentase BBLR lebih tinggi dibanding berat badan lahir normal yaitu 59,5oA, mayoritas anak memiliki IMT Underweighr yaitu 50,3yo. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara berat badan lahir dengan fungsi kognitif (P : 0,0001), dan tidak ada hubungan antara IMT dengan fungsi kognitif pada anak SD di desa Singkuang (P : 0,356). Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan signifikan antara berat badan lahir dengan fungsi kognitif dan tidak ada hubungan antaral IMT dengan fungsi kognitif pada anak
