dc.description.abstractBackground. Academic burnout is a negative emotional, physical, and mental reaction to prolonged study that results in fatigue, frustration and lack of motivation. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many people to adopt new habits that have the potential to undermine mental health. Burnout among resident is very predominant which can be caused for various reasons. Objective. This study aims to find out how the academic burnout picture during the pandemic period for the Specialist Doctor Program (PPDS) Participants of the FK USU Children's Specialist Program. Method. This study is a descriptive study with a cross-sectional design, using a total sampling technique found 49 respondents, then socialization was carried out before distributing questionnaires SBI (School Burnout Inventory)accompanied by an informed consent sheet. Data were analyzed univariately and presented in the form of tables and statistics. Results. A total of 44 respondents (89.8%) of Pediatric Resident experienced burnout. A total of 30 respondents (61.2%) women experienced burnout. A total of 18 respondents (36.8%) experienced burnout. A total of 29 respondents (59.1%) married experienced burnout. Conclusion. Most of the FK USU Pediatric Resident experienced academic burnout.en_US
