Selection of symmetric cryptographic algorithms are designed so that the encryption decryption process requires a short time but are less secure security key and lock must be changed frequently. While on the contrary asymmetric cryptography, security issues on the key distribution can be overcome but the process of encryption and decryption of data is generally slower. Hybrid cryptosystem often used as take advantage of the speed of processing by the symmetric algorithm and the easy transfer of asymmetric key algorithms that improve the security of text. This resulted in an increase in speed without reducing the comfort and security. The use of a hybrid cryptosystem in this study is a combination of Hill Cipher algorithm, Vigenère Cipher is an example of a symmetric algorithm, and the RSA algorithm is an example of asymmetric algorithms for text messaging security. To implement the concept used literature studies, literature reviews, research materials and results of discussions with faculty. The results of this study showed an increase in security in which the plain text message text to be sent is encrypted by a two-layer algorithm and the Hill Cipher Vigenère Cipher and key security by the RSA algorithm. By using the hardware specs: Dual Corer processor 2.1 GHz CPU, 1 GB memory and 160 GB hard drive and use software Visual Basic. Net, the time required to process the encryption and decryption are very short, in which the encryption process with number 1272-character message takes 77 milli seconds and the decryption process is required within 7 milli seconds.
