Pengaruh Kecepatan Pengadukan pada Tahap Asidogenesis Pengolahan Limbah Cair Pabrik Kelapa Sawit (LCPKS)
Abstract
The purposes of this research were to study how mixing velocity influenced the
changes in the concentration of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and solids
contained in POME and the degradation of these components into volatile fatty
acids (VFA) during acidogenesis of POME. This research consisted of two stages,
loading up and target operation. The results obtained for loading up were the
characterizations of the POME itself and optimum HRT operation of 4 days.
During operation target, the mixing velocity was varied with mixing of 50, 100,
and 200 rpm and the results obtained from this experiment showed that the
increasing of mixing velocity would also increase the VSS, VS, and COD
concentration. The highest concentration of total VFA of 5.766,606 mg/L were
obtained for mixing velocity of 200 rpm with the concentration of acetic acids,
propionic acids, and butyric acids were 1.889,233, 1.161,426, and 2.725.947
mg/L, respectively.
