Cheese is a processed food product made from raw milk animal. Milk is a source of protein for humans which is consumed in the whole world. The protein in animal milk is casein which is a component clumping on the cheese. The market demand for semi-hard cheese continues to increase in Indonesia and the availability of raw materials for coconut milk in Indonesia is also very sufficient.
Preliminary plant design of semi-hard cheese with 1.800 ton/year capacity and operating for 300 days in a year. The planned factory location is on Jalan Belawan Bahari, Medan Belawan District, Medan City, North Sumatra 20414, with the required land area of 14,634 m2.
The employees needed to operate the factory is 114 people. The planned business entity form is a Limited Liability Company (PT) and the organizational form is a line and staff system organization.
. The result of the economic analysis on the preliminary plant design are :
1. Capital Investment (CI) = Rp 221.401.525.256,69
2. Total Cost (TC) = Rp 105.005.261.679,85
3. Profit Margin (PM) = 64,21 %
4. Break Even Point (BEP) = 21,27 %
5. Return on Investment (ROI) = 65,80 %
6. Return On Network (RON) = 109,66 %
7. Pay Out Time (POT) = 1,5 years
8. Internal Rate of Return (IRR) = 41,08
