Adsorbent from the fur shells could be used to adsorb heavy metal ions such as Cd(II) and Pb(II). This is shown from the results of the analysis of metal adsorption by measuring the percentage entrapment values. This research was aimed to identify factors - factors that influenced the making of adsorbent, determine the nature and characteristics of the fur shells and to know how much was the compound had been adsorbed as well as the value of Langmuir and Freundlich Isotherm. Materials - materials used include fur shells, aquadest, and a solution of metal Cd(II) and Pb(II). Variables in this research was the activation temperature, the amount of adsorbent, the concentration of the metal solution was used and the time until equilibrium. This research was began with fur shells reduction to the size of 140 mesh, and then activation thermal at a temperature 110ᴼC, 500ᴼC and 800ᴼC in the furnace. Furthermore, the analysis process by performing adsorbent characterization using BET equipment, measure its density, moisture content and ash, as well as adsorbed adsorbent 500ᴼC with a solution of metal and measured the remaining solution by AAS equipment. The result showed that adsorbent activated at temperatures 110ᴼC, 500ᴼC and 800ᴼC had surface area 725.43; 807.94; and 803.822 m2 /kg. Density was inversely proportional to the activation temperature, the value of moisture content and ash was the specified with the value by SNI. Adsorbents activated at temperatures 500ᴼC better followed Freundlich Isotherm equation.en_US
