| dc.description.abstract | Glycerol is a material needed in various industries, for example: pharmaceuticals,
foodstuffs, cosmetics, toothpaste, industrial chemicals, ink printers and others. The need for glycerol
in Indonesia is expected to continue to increase when viewed from the increasing number of
industries that use glycerol as an ingredient in the production process of a product. Therefore, with the
establishment of a glycerol factory in Indonesia, it is hoped that it will be able to meet glycerol needs
with materials that are easy to obtain and at a low cost so that glycerol products with better economic
value can be produced The glycerol manufacturing plant from palm kernel oil with a continuous fat splitting
process is planned to operate with a production capacity of 5,000 tons/year and 300 working days a
year. The planned form of business entity is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a workforce of
150 people.
The results of the economic analysis of the factory for producing glycerol from palm kernel
oil are as follows:
Total Investment Capital = IDR 429,068,237.14,-
• Total Production Cost = IDR 183,998,229,734,-
• Sales Proceeds = IDR 1,238,047,993,617.55,-
• Net Profit = IDR 700,999,093,018.44,-
• Profit Margin (PM) = 80.88%
• Break Even Point (BEP) = 7.71%
• Return on Investment (ROI) = 1.63%
• Pay Out Time (POT) = 6.1 years
• Return on Network (RON) = 27.22 %
• Internal Rate of Return (IRR) = 23.77 %
Based on the results of the analysis of the economic aspect, it can be concluded that this
“Plant for Production of Glycerol from Palm Kernel Oil” is feasible to establish. | en_US |
