    Pengaruh Waktu Vulkanisasi pada Pembuatan Produk Film Lateks Karet Alam Berpengisi Selulosa Mikrokristalin dari Tepung Kulit Singkong dengan Penambahan Penyerasi Alkanolamida

    Abstract
    Cassava peel waste contains cellulose approximately 37,9% which was potential to be derived into microcrystalline cellulose and used as fillers in natural rubber latex products. The study on the effect of drying time and alkanolamide compositon on the mechanical properties of natural rubber latex products was done in order to obtain the optimum drying time and alkanolamide composition in producing crosslink density and mechanical properties such as tensile strength, elongation at break, and tensile modulus. Natural rubber latex was produced by using coagulant dipping method. The result of amylum test, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) material of α-cellulose hydrolysis from cassava peel was microcrystalline cellulose. Natural rubber latex was filled with microcrystalline cellulose and alkanolamide with composition 0; 0,5; 1,0; 1,5; 2,0; 2,5% wt. The manufacture of natural rubber latex products was started by pre-vulcanization process at 70°C and followed with vulcanization process at 100°C for 10 minutes and 20 minutes. The result of FTIR characterization showed that alkanolamide as compatibilizer has polar group which can modified microcrystalline cellulose and non-polar group which can modified the natural rubber latex. The results of mechanical properties showed that higher drying time will improved the crosslink reaction which was shown from the mechanical properties at 20 minutes were higher than the mechanical properties at 10 minutes. The results of mechanical properties were supported by Scanning Electron Microscopy which the addition of 1% alkanolamide, microcrystalline cellulose was dispersed well in natural rubber latex matrix so that mechanical properties of natural rubber latex achieve optimum value.
