| dc.description.abstract | Activity of various industry generally produces wastewater that is often a problem for the
environment because they contain a wide variety of harmful contaminants. This pollution
impact on the water quality and increased suspended solids in the water. Heavy metals
pose a major environmental threat because it can cause high toxicity to ecosystems and
humans. Therefore, it is necessary to attempt removal (adsorption) of heavy metals from
water bodies using adsorbents, corn stalks. From the results of the analysis, the adsorption
rate is rapid in the first 20 minutes. Adsorption kinetics modeling, it is suitable to use a
second order equation and an internal diffusion model. If seen from the variation of the
pH of binery solution, the highest adsorption capacity at pH 6 (Cd2+:Cu2+ // 30:30 ppm),
ie Cd = 2.1735 mg / g and Cu = 1.8319 mg / g. However, what if seen from a comparison
of concentration, the highest capacity occurred at a concentration of Cd2+:Cu2+ 40:20 ppm
(pH: 4.5), ie Cd = 2.7455 mg / g and Cu = 1.0969 mg / g. However, when seen from the
separation factor, adsorption processes multi-system is better at low pH and
concentrations of cadmium were small. | en_US |
