Pengaruh Suhu dan Volume Starter Dalam Pembuatan Bioetanol Dari Nira Aren (Arenga Pinnata Merr)
Abstract
This research studies about determine the effect of temperature and volume of
starter on yield and concentration of bioethanol produced from nira Aren (Arenga
pinnata Merr). Biocatalyst used was Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The experimental
variables were temperature and volume of starter doing anaerobic fermentation
process. The experiment started with preparation of a starter followed by
fermentation process. The product obtained from distillation process at
temperature of 85 ° C. It can be conclude that high ethanol yield and concentration
obtained at low temperature with the addition of the starter, it will produce the
higher content and yield of ethanol until it reaches the maximum point, obtained
on the condition at a temperature of 32 ° C and 35% starter amounted to 43.3165%
(v / v) and 38.1430%. If it exceed that point, the changes of temperature and the
addition of starter will decrease the concentration and yield of ethanol produced
