dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this research to be determined the optimum time of making the ashes of saba banana peels. This study begins with the burning to ashes obtained saba banana peel ashes (Musa paradisiaca Linn cv. 'Saba'). Combustion is done by using muffle furnace with variable conditions fixed at a temperature of 600 oC and variations which time furnace time (1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours and 5 hours). The content of potassium in the ash is extracted with distilled water in the ratio of 1: 100 and steeped for 24 hours. Analysis which do is normality, pH, conductivity and K2O content by AAS method. The best results of the ashes was obtained at a temperature of 600 oC, weighing 15 g sample is at 3 hours. Where the results of analysis with AAS method (Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy) was obtained at 59.07% K2O content.en_US
