The necessary of the substance materials of wall like red brick is more increasing and hard to be found, therefore, the brick is used to be an alternative material of the wall. The selection of brick as an alternative material because it has some advantages. They are easy and fast processing, and the price is relatively cheaper. And the price of materials of building are more expensive too. One of the substance materials of brick is cement. In this study, the use of cement in concrete brick is going to be reduced by the glass powder. The basic of using the glass powder as an ingredient substitution of cement is because the glass powder has some similiar chemical element with cement, which is SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3, and CaO. the Glass powder from the wasted glass bottles which passes a sieve No. 200 will be used in this study. The glass powder from wasted glass bottles will be processed and shattered to be glass powder which passes a sieve No. 200, and it used as much as 20% by weight of cement. The Brick is quite large and heavy, so the weight of the concrete block is reduced by using of foaming agent. The Foaming agent is a material that can make the cavities air in blocks, so the brick will be lighter. The Samples in this study are slinder with a diameter of 10 cm and 20 cm high, brick with a size of 40 cm x 20 cm x 10 cm and brick wall with measuring 1 x 1 meter. All of the samples will be cured during the 28 days before testing. Then the testing of the samples will be tested in visually, density, absorption, compressive strength and compressive strength of the wall. The Datas were analyzed by using the reference SNI 03-0349-1989 Concrete Brick Wall Couples. This study obtains the results visually into the standard SNI 03-0349-1989 after testing an outside looked and sizes. The Testing of bulk density samples were obtained an average weight of the largest 1506.752 kg / m3 and contained in the test specimen cylinder substitution 20% of glass powder which passes a sieve No 200. Based on the results of absorption test, there is impairment of absorption from the specimen materials which used glass powder 20% substitution of passes sieve No. 200 and foaming agent, the average absorption values obtained at least 11.404% into the quality I SNI 03-0349-1989. there is an increasing value from The results of compressive strength testing which used the specimen from substitute material glass powder 20% passes a sieve No. 200 and foaming agent, the compressive strength maximum average obtained for 40.382 Kg / cm2 into the quality of III SNI 03-0349-1989. The Maximum compressive strength of the wall samples obtained of 45.5 Kg / cm2 on the samples which used the glass powder substitute material 20% passes a sieve No. 200 and foaming agent.en_US
