dc.description.abstractcidogenesis process is first step in anaerobic digestion process. Acidogenesis process produce volatile fatty acid (VFA) as a substrat in methanogenesis process to produce biogas. This research aimed to obtain effect of agitation also obtain the best agitation of the semi batch reactor in asidognesis process of palm oil mill effluent (POME) at ambient condition. Operation was done of the semi batch reactor by varying the agitation 200 rpm, 250 rpm and 300 rpm with pH 5,5. Analysis for solids (TS, VS, TSS, and VSS), COD, and VFA are being done to study the conversion of organic compounds to VFA during acidogenesis. The highest VFA of 6.721,685 mg/L are formed at 200 rpm with the concentrations of acetic acid, propionic acid, and butyric acid are 3.192,605 mg/L, 1.309,477 mg/L, and 2.219,604 mg/L, respectively through the VS and COD degradation of 29,5960 % and 3,5714 %, respectively and VFA/Alkalinity ratio is 2,4006en_US
